The Well estate, near Alford, to be sold by the trustees of the late FJ Bateman
Dashwood esq. The estate consists of over 4,000 acres, and includes the manors
of Well and Alford, Alford-Hanby, Alford-Ryder, Mawthorpe and Claxby; tolls from
the markets and fairs at Alford; the advowson of the rectory of Well with
Dexthorpe and the vicarage of Claxby; Well Hall, the Windmill Inn, White Hart
public house and other houses, shops and cottages in Alford; together with
additional property in Well, Claxby, Ulceby, Willoughby, Hogsthorpe,
Cumberworth and Sutton in the Marsh.
